l A meeting was held with Duquesne Light' Company (DLC) on Wednesday, December 14, 1983 at'NRC Headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. DLC was accompanied by represent-

atives of Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation. The NRC was' represented by members.of the Division of Licensing'and the Division of Engineering. A list of attendees is included as Enclosure 11.

The purpose of the meeting was to continue discussion of the-staff's request for additional information concerning seismological aspects of the applicant's l-FSAR. The staff discussed the ways and means to obtain earthquake strong motion

records to construct a site-specific spectrum. References of tabulations of.

these records were conveyed to the applicant.

j The importance of the applicant providing information on shallow earthquakes was.also discussed.

And finally, the eastern boundary of the Appalachian Plateau tectonic: province i

was not well defined and the staff felt needed further clarification. The edge P

of the Siluria Salt seemed to be an acceptable boundary.
