SUBJECT:

REGUL^'ORY GUIDE 1.97 IMPLEMENTATION REPORT A mgeting was held with Duquesne Light Company (DLC) on Thursday, January 5, 1988 at NRC Headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. The NRC was represented by members of the Division of Licensing and the Division of Systems Integration.

A list of attendees is included as Enclosure 1.

The purpose of this meeting was_to discuss the status of the NRC's review of the applicant's Regulatory Guide 1.97 Implementation Report. The NRC reviewer explained that DLC's report, submitted September 12, 1983, had been sent to the staff's consultant, EG&G, for a completeness review on the 20th of that same month. The in-house staff review was expected to be completed by July 1984. Presently, priority was being given to operating reactors.

The applicant stated that they planned to meet the intent of Regulatory Guide 1.97 as discussed in section 1.8 of their FSAR.
