Gentlemen:

SUBJECT:

Follow-Up to Special Reports on Inoperability of Fire Barriers and Fire Detection Systems Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) reported in Reference 2 and Reference 3 the inoperability of several fire barriers and fire detection systems. The purpose of this submittal is to inform you that the barriers and detection systems have been returned to operable status. Two of the fire barrier penetrations were not returned to an operable status by the scheduled restoration date, provided in Reference 2, because the material certification for the structural concrete used in the barriers took longer than estimated to complete. Comper:satory measures were in effect during the time of inoperability; therefore, the delay did not present a safety concern. The barriers / systems which remained inoperable at the time Reference 2 and Reference 3 were filed are listed in the attachment, along with the scheduled and actual restoration dates.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact us.
