Gentlemen:

SUBJECT:

Follow-up to Special Report on Inoperability of Fire Doors Omaha Public Power District (0 PPD) reported in a Special Report (Reference 2) the inoperability of fire doors as determined by a review of the installation of fire doors and framos conducted by Underwriters Laboratories in 1985. In order to resolve the findings of this review, it was necessary to procure custom made doors and hardware which required a long lead time. The purpose of this sub-mittal is to inform you that the maintenance and replacements associated with the Reference 2 Special Report have been completed. Although the majority of the doors were repaired or replaced as of January, 1987, the final repair /

replacement was completed on September 29, 1988. Subsequent to the original U.L. report, OPPD has initiated a replacenunt program for many of the firedoors.

Several of the listed doors are currently ic. operable due to "replacement in progress". Compensatory measures were ir, effect during the time the doors wers inoperable, and are b effect for those currently being replaced.

A list of the fire doors and associated Maintenance Order numbers is attached.

If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact us.
