' Subj ect.: Request .for Withholding Information from Public Disclosure (AW-85-012)

By its application dated March 5, 1985, Georgia Power Company submitted infometien regarding steam superheating during a steamline break for dry containments and requested that it be withheld from public disclosure pursuant tc 10 CFR 2.790. Also enclosed was an affidavit from the Westing-house Electric Corporation dated September 30, 1976.

The affidovit stated thct' the submitted infonnation should be considered exempt from mandatory public disclosure for the following reasons:

1. The document contains information which is customarily held in confidence by Wesunghouse.
2. 'The information.has been held in confidence by Westinghouse and is not avaiiobie in pubMc sources.
3. Thdcihformation is the result of analyses performed by expenditure of considerable time and effort to Westinghouse.

I< We have reviewed your application and the material based on the requirements and criteria of 10 Cf R 2.790 and on the basis of your statements, have determined that the submitted informattin sought to be withheld contains trade secrets or proprietary commercial information.

Therefore, the Westinghouse information marked as proprietary will be withheld from public discloture pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790(b)(5) and Section 103(b) of the Atomfc Energy ; Act of 1954, as amended.

Withholdir.g from public inspection shall not affect the right, if any, of per-sons property and directly concerned to inspect the documer.ts. If the need arises, we raay send copies of this information to our consultants working in this area. We will, of course, insure that the consultants have signed the appropriate agreements for handling proprietary information.
