August 15, 1986 Docket Nos. 50-277 50-278 Joyce Tickler Atmospheric Science Division Brookhaven National Laboratory Upton, NY 11973
Subject:
Summary of Radioactive Effluents Released from Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station Units 2 and 3 for 1984
Dear Ms. Tickler:
By correspondence dated July 15, 1986, R. A. Hartfield, NRC, to E. G. Bauer, Philadelphia Electric Company (PECo), the NRC requested our review of a proposed summary being prepared by Brockhaven National Laboratory of radioactive effluents from the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station in 1984. As requested by the NRC, we are responding directly to you with a marked up copy of the draft (attached) depicting suggested revisions. W. C. Birely and L. L. Middleton, PECo, discussed these revisions with you in an August 11, 1986 telecon.
A comparison of the proposed summary with the Semi-Annual Effluent Release Reports for 1984 verified the accuracy of all values. The suggested revisions, as shown on the attached draft, deal with (1) the need to insert the appropriate code (N/A, N/R, N/D) where data is missing, (2) reverse the " batch" and
" continuous" headings on the list of liquid effluent isotopes, and (3) add a missing value (4.40 E-2) on the table depicting the summation of all gaseous effluent releases.
