May 27, 1988 Mr. Cecil O. Thomas Chief, Policy Development and Technical Support Branch Program Management Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555 Re: Ohio Edison Company Antitrust License License Amendment Application

Dear Mr. Thomas:

On April 19, 1988, Ohio Edison Company informed you of its desire to file a written response to the comments received from the Cities of Clyde and Cleveland and American Municipal Power-Ohio on the subject antitrust license amendment application.

Ohio Edison requested 45 days, or until June 3, 1988, in which to make this filing.

Due to the length of the comments from the City of Cleveland, and the unavoidable press of other business, counsel will not be able to complete Ohio Edison's response by June 3.

Ohio Edison, therefore, requests a 30-day extension, until July 3, 1988, within which to file its response. The undersigned counsel has discussed this extension with the NRC's antitrust counsel, and is authorized to state that they do not object to granting this extension.

Sincerely yours, Robert E. Za er Counsel for Ohio Edison Company cc Joseph Rutberg, Esquire Benjamin H. Vogler, Esquire Gregg D. Ottinger, Esquire Reuben Goldberg, Esquire David R. Straus, Esquire Janet Urban, Esquire 69 15 i0 8806160313 880527 PDR ADOCK 05000440 Oi DCD  ;
