Dear Mr. Denton:

The Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety has reviewed the proposed Technical Specificacion Amendment referenced above. We have determined no adverse findings as a result of that review.

However, we feel that the following coments should be addressed:

1.) The testing period for the in-service diesel generators should be specified, i.e. if not 8 hours9.259259e-5 days
0.00222 hours
1.322751e-5 weeks
3.044e-6 months
, what time period?

2.) Will LaSalle station make the available D/G's accessable to the crosstie since all three 0/G's may not be worked on at one time?

It is uncertain from the Comonwealth Edison submittal whether the vital bus auto load shedding capability has been assured operable within time limitations required to prevent bus voltage degradation. Absent sup[,orting data, the timed auto load shedding capability should be demonstrated.

These comments were verbally conveyed to Mr. A. Bournia (NRC) on October 9, 1985.
