Dear Mr. Wambach:

As it was requested by Mr. Crutchfield of NRC in a meeting between the SEP Owners' Group and the Commission on October 4, 1979, we transmit a following list of action itens taken or being taken by JCP&L for the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station as a result of the SEP reviews.

1. Numerous additional analyses have been performed in preparation for the SEP reviews.

Examples:

(i) Extensive evaluations have been made to determine if any postulated high energy line break inside containment could result in inability to safely shut down reactor and maintain it in a safe shutdown condition.

The results of the analyses were trancmitted to the Comission on July 30, 1979.

(ii) Seismic evaluations have been made to assess adequacy of the existing structures against current criteria.

(iii) Seismic and stress analyses have also been performed for piping.

2. Extensive plant inspections (walk-through) have been made with teams of qualified seismic experts prior to the NRC Seismic Review Team V isit. As a result of these inspections additinal temporary seismic supports have been installed for certain equipment such as station batteries, instrument racks and cabinets. Further analyses are in progress to assess adequacy of the existing seismic supports for safety related equignent.

Following the analyses those equipment in need of additional seismic restraints will be modified accord-ingly in the upcoming outage scheduled to commence in January 1980. For some equignent new seismically g 1210 130 7910200 EO -
