ISSUANCE OF RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE FOR CALLAWAY PLANT, UNIT 1 (TAC NOS. ME7708, ME7716)

Dear Mr. Diya:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) has issued Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-30 for the Callaway Plant, Unit 1 (Callaway). The NRC issued the renewed facility operating license based on the staffs review of your application dated December 15, 2011, as supplemented by letters submitted to the NRC through June 20, 2014.

The technical specifications for Callaway were not amended as a result of the NRCs review.

Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-30 for Unit 1 expires at midnight on October 18, 2044.

The technical basis for issuing the renewed operating license is set forth in Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of the Callaway Plant, Unit 1, dated August 21, 2014.

The results of the environmental review related to the issuance of the renewed license are given in NUREG-1437, Supplement 51, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants Regarding Callaway Plant, dated October 2014, and the record of decision.

contains Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-30 with attachments, Appendix A, Technical Specifications, Appendix B, Environmental Protection Plan, and Appendix C, Additional Conditions.

is a copy of the related Federal Register notice of issuance of the renewed license.

The staff has sent the original to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
