In Reference 2, the NRC issued Amendment 206 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-30. The amendment approved the transition of the Callaway fire protection program to a risk-informed, performance-based program based on National Fire Protection Association (NFP A) 805, "Performance-Based Standard for Fire Protection for Light Water Reactor Electric Generating Plants, 2001 Edition" (NFP A 805), in accordance with 1 0 CFR 50.48(c).

  • LRA changes which incorporate scope and program changes made as a result of the issuance of Amendment 206 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-30 for Callaway (Reference 2). Included is a change to Commitment 39 (Table A4-1, Item 39) which indicates the commitment has been completed.

The provided information is intended to assist the staff in closing Open Item 2.3.3.20-1 identified in Reference 3, regarding the transition to NFPA 805.

  • Updated S/G Divider Plate Commitments (Table A4-1, Items 34 and 35)
  • Closure of Commitment on Atypical Fuel Design (Table A4-1, Item 43)
  • As a result ofNFPA 805 scope change, a commitment was added to enhance the scope of the Regulatory Guide 1.127, Inspection of Water-Control Structures Associated with Nuclear Power Plants program procedures by adding the circulating water flow path in the turbine building. (Table A4-1, Item 45). As described above, four (4) modified commitments and one (1) new commitment are included in Amendment 31, Table A4-1, Item(s) 34, 35, 39, 43, and 45.
