Revision of Facility Physical Security Plan a

Dear Sir,

g

{ - - -

The Nuclear Science Center (NSC) has revised its safeguard contingency plan. The changes consist of a reclassification of the NSC's status according to 10 CFR 73.2 from a facility of "special nuclear material oflow strategic significance" to a facility of "special nuclear material of moderate strategic significance", a change in the terminology used for classifying security threats, and the addition of a section covering access control and badges.

The NSC staff and the Reactor Safety Board have reviewed the security plan. It has been determined in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(p) that the changes do not reduce the effectiveness of tne security plan.

Please contact me if there are any questions.
