INITIAL EXAMINATION REPORT NO. 50-128/OL-98-01

Dear Dr. Russell:

1 During the week of May 25,1998, the NRC administered an initial examination to employees of your facility who had applied for a license to operate your Texas A&M University Reactor. The examination was conducteo in accordance with NUREG-1478, "Non-Power Reactor Operator Licensing Examiner Standards," Revision 1. At the conclusion of the examination, the examination questions and preliminary findings were discussed with those merabers of your staff identified in the enclosed report, in accordanca with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commissinn's regulations, a copy of this letter l and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
