In ruling on your requests of August 17, 1984 to subpoena Shearon Harris personnel to testify on your Contentions 41 and 65, the Atomic Safe *y and Licensing Board denied your requests as to Messrs. Montcastle, Troxell and DeBarres, who are no longer employed at Shearon Harris (or elsewhere by CP&L), but indicated you still might seek their voluntary appearance.

While I had your request for their last known addresses under consideration, the Licensing Board directed me to provide the addresses to you, subject to the protective order previously imposed for this confidential information. See Tr. 759; Wells Eddleman's Response to Applicants' Motion for Protective Order, January 30, 1984.

In any communication you have with these individuals, it is important that you accurately represent to them that the Licensing Board did not determine that their testimony was necessary to develop a sound and com-plete record.

Finally, I would like to remind you that the outline of subject matters on which the requested witnesses will be exam-ined, and the list of documents to be used in the examination, are to be in the hands of Applicants by October 1, 1984.
