Dear Sir or Madam:

In accordance with 10 CFR 50.74(a) and (b), Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) is providing notification that one Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) has been reassigned from the position for which CP&L certified the need for an SRO license and another SRO has terminated employment with CP&L. Both individuals are licensed on the Harris Nuclear Plant. The names, docket numbers, and license numbers for these two individuals are included in the enclosure to this letter. Effective April 30, 1999, the subject licenses are no longer required and CP&L requests that they be terminated.

CP&L requests that the information contained in the enclosure to this letter be exempt from public disclosure under the provisions of 10 CFR 2.790(a)(6) since disclosure would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.
