RTDassemblies havebeenaddeddownstream ofthesolenoidvalvestodetectleakagethroughthesevalves..TheseRTD"ssemblies willsetoffanalarminthecontrolroomifleakagethroughthevalvesshouldoccur..Thereactorvesselheadventconnectstoapart-length controlroddrivemechanism housinglocatednearthecenterofthereactorhead.Thepressurizer ventisconnected tothepressurizer reliefline.Thepossibility ofreactorcoolantpressureboundaryleakageisminimized becauseofthetwoisolation valvesinseries.Isolation valvesinoneflowpatharepoweredbyTrainAandthevalvesinthesecondflowpatharepoweredbyTrainB.Boththereactorheadventandthepressurizer ventdischarge intotheuppervolumeofthe.containment atapprox.elevation 673'-0",inanareawhichwillprovideadequatedilutionofanycombustible gas. Allpipingandequipment usedinthereactorheadventfromthepart-length rodhousingtotheorificesandallpipingandequipment usedinthepressurizer ventfromthepressurizer reliefpipingtotheorificesaredesignedinaccordance withASME,SectionIIIClass1requirements.

Fromtheorificesuptothefirstanchordownstream ofthesecondisolation valvethepipingandequipment hasbeendesignedinaccordance withASMESectionIIIClass2requirements.
