Dear Dr. Murley:
This letter and its attachments transmit the Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Reports for Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant Unit 1.
The surveillance capsule (capsule U) was removed from Unit 1 during the 1989 refueling outage and was tested and analyzed by Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
Three copies of the following report are enclosed with this letter:

Cook Unit 1 Reactor Vessel Radiation Surveillance Program."
The effect of the subject capsule analysis on the pressurized thermal shock analysis (10 CFR 50.61) and on the Technical Specifications will be evaluated and submitted separately.
