Dear Dr. Hurley:
Pursuant to discussions with your staff on May 17,
- 1990, the purpose of this letter is to request withdrawal of the proposed technical specification (T/S) changes submitted via our letter AEP:NRC:1036 dated August 30, 1989.
The changes we requested in our letter AEP:NRC:1036 modified Sections 3.0 and 4.0 of the T/Ss and the accompanying Bases sections to incorporate the changes recommended by the NRC in Generic Letter 87-09 and other administrative changes.
Generic Letter 87-09 contained proposed changes to Rev.
4 of the Standard T/Ss for Sections 3.0 and 4.0 as part of a program for T/S improvement that the NRC had undertaken.
In your staff's letter dated March 13, 1990 from Hr. Joseph Giitter to Mr. Milton P. Alexich, a request was made for additional information to support the T/S amendment request contained in AEP:NRC:1036.
After evaluating your request for additional information, we have decided to withdraw our request for amendment as submitted.
We will re-submit the Generic Letter 87-09 recommended improvement items on a case-by-case basis as they apply to our current T/Ss.
We apologize for the inconvenience this change may have caused.
