HATCH NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1, 2 RADIOLOGICAL EFFLUENT TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Gentlemen:

Georgia Power Company submitted Radiological Effluent Technical Specifications on August 1,1984 with the supporting Offsite Dose Calculation Manual and Process Control Program submitted on October 1,1984. Since RETS have not been issued for January 1,1985 implementation, we have modified our schedule for implementation. Due to the substantial differences in reporting criteria, it is impractical to implement RETS except at the beginning of a semi-annual period. Our current plans, therefore, are to implement RETS beginning the first semi-annual (i.e., January 1 or July 1) period following NRC issuance. Should you have any questions, please contact my office.

Very truly yours,
