- Gentlemen:
-This. letter is to inform you of Georgia Power Company's (GPC) intent tor-deed approximately 10 acres of GPC land to Appling County, Georgia for D
thee purpose of road improvements..
Specifically, GPC intends to transfer
-the right;of way for County Road.451.to Appling County so that the road mcy y
'be straightened and paved.

Currently, County Road 451 passes from US ' Highway 1 through the l
. southwestern corner of GPC property.and'past the GPC recreation area on the y
J southern. boundary of GPC property.
The property transfer involves an;80 foot right of way for a' distance of approximately one mile.

In1 evaluating this issue, GPC has reviewed the FSAR, SER, ODCM, D
L
. Emergency Plan and Security Plan. An environmental impact assessment has also been performed. These reviews revealed two items requiring action.
'l.. ' Some areas adjacent to County Road 451 are considered " wetlands"
- and, as such, a Corps of Engineers permit is necessary prior to i
any filling.
Appling County has been notified of their responsibility to obtain the required permits after the deed 3
transfer.

Unit Two FSAR Sections 1.2 and 2.1.2 will require revision to

reflect that County Road 451 lies within the Plant Hatch 4
L exclusion area. The deed transfer will result in County Road l.
451 being analogous to US Highway 1 and the Altamaha River with l
regard to Emergency and Security planning.
