STARTUP FOLLOWING SECOND REFUELING OUTAGE

.The Unit 2 facility resumed operation on June 12, 1986 af ter completing its second refueling outag]. In addition to refueling, the outage also included replacement of,the reactor coolant

, pump coal packages with a new design which should eliminate the need to replace the seal packa~ge c:ch time the reactor coolant pumps are stopped. . Additionally, during the outage, the licensee.

' completed testing of motor operated valves in.accordance with the requirements of.IE Bull tin 85-03, performed Inservice Inspection -(ISI) of the reactor vessel flange /and nossles, perftrued the mechanical snubber surveillance (which identified drag force problems on large snrbb:rs), and performed steam generator tube inspection (wh .:h identified problems with the .

loo:::ing of previously installed tube plugs). The identified problems were resolved prior to r:st:rt. The three unit fac'.lity now has Units.2 and 3 in operation with Unit 1 forecast to rc,ttrn to operation on July 8, 1986.
