This refers to the fees required for the renewal of License SNM-7 and confirms our April 1,1988 telephone conversation.

As we discussed, License SNM-7 is currently classified in fee Categories 4A, 1D, 1K, 2G, and 3P of 9170,31, 10 CFR 170, copy enclosed. There-fore, if you wish to continue the current license authorizations, your March 14,1988 application will be subject to the renewal fee specified in fee Category 4A. As we agreed in our April 1,1988 telephone conversa-tion, the $150 fee which accompanied your application has been retained in payment of application fee specified in fee Category 4A. If you wish to delete the incineration authorization, your app 1! cation for renewal will be subject to the renewal fee specified in fee Category 1D of

$170.31. In either case, as provided in $170.12(d) and Footnote 1(c) of

$170.31, the additional renewal fee, up to the maximum amount specified in the appropriate Category, shall be due upon notification by the Comission. Under the current scheduli of fees, the maximum renewal fee for Category 4A is $285,600 and the maximun renewal fee for Category 1D is $52,200.

If you decide to discontinue the incineration authorization, you should send a written request to that effect to the U.S. Nucitar Regulatory Commission, Advanced Fuel and Spent Fuel Licensing Branch, Division of Fuel Cycle and Materie,1 Safety, Washington, D.C. 20555, and provide a copy of your request to the undersigned.
