Docket No. 50-255

Consumers Power Company

ATTN: Mr. R. B. DeWitt

Vice President

Nuclear Operations

212 West Michigan Avenue

Jackson, MI 49201

Gentlemen:

We have received your letter of November 7, 1985, describing your corrective

action to exercise weakness No. 5 which was identified in our letter to you

dated October 8, 1985. Based on a conversation between Mr. A. Katarsky of

your staff and Ms. L. Kers of this office on November 14, 1985, we understand

that additional space for NRC personnel will be set up in the main area of the

EOF, at least one room will be provided in the manor house, and that space and

telephone allocations will meet the guidance specified in NUREG-0696. Based

upon this information, we find your response to exercise weakness No. 5

acceptable.

Your cooperation with us is appreciated.

Sincerely,
