Gentlemen:
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by A. G. Januska of
this office on June 8-12, 1987, of activities'at Palisades Nuclear Generating
Plant, authorized by NRC Operating License No. DPR-20, and to the discussion
of our findings with Mr. J. Lewis and others of your staff at the conclusion
of the inspection.
The enclosed copy _ of cur inspection report identifies areas examined during.
the inspection.
With'n these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
interviews with personnel.
In addition, our Mobile Laboratory was at the' site
during the inspection to perform independent measurements of radioactivity.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this-
inspection.
