" RESOLUTION OF WATERFORD UNIT 3 QUALITY ASSURANCE" FIN A-6819 The enclosed NRC Form 173, Standard Order for 00E Work, is hereby submitted in accordance with Section III.B.2 of the DOE /NRC Memorandum of Understandirg of February 24, 1978.

As indicated in the enclosed NRC Form 173, we have reviewed the Idaho National Ergineering Laboratory (INEL) proposal tated April 2,1984, for the subject program and approve the proposal es modTfied in the attachment to the PRC Fom 173. The modifications are to increase the r'equired level of effort which is urgently needed at Waterford Unit 3 and for the reporting recuirements. We have discussed the modifications to the Statement of Work with and have agreed upon an estimate cost and schedule for the work with Mr. 8. Barnes of INEL.

The modified program is estimated to be S232,000 for FY84 The enclosed NRC Fom 173 provides an additional S182,000 to fully furd the program in FY84 Funding authori:ation in the amount cf $50,000 in FY84 has provicusly been provided for this procram.

He recuest that a revised INEL proposal includino the modifications a*.tached to the enclosed NRC Fom 173 be submitted with six (6) copies within 10 days in the forrat of the Statement of Werk for this program to:

This order accepts the INEL proposal dated April 1984 for this FIN as modified in the attached Modification to the Statement of Work, requests a revised proposal including the modifications within 10 days, authorizes the work in the modifications which is urgently needed and provides funds of $182,000 to fully fund this program in FY84 The program is estimated to be $232,000 in FYS?.

"1.

A first two-week visit for the seven-person team to the plant site with the team working up to 7 days a week, twelve hours a day.

2.

A second three-week visit for the seven-person team to the plant with the team working up to 7 days a week, twelve hcurs a day.

This visit may be broken down into as many as 3 separate visits of one week each. This will be decided by the NRC Lead Engineer.

3.

A one week, one-person visit to NRC offices, Bethesda, l'aryland, to write results of the first team visit to the plant site.

4 A one-day, two-persor visit to NRC offices at Bethesda, Maryland, for presentation of findings and conclusions of the entire effort.

5.

Travel required by this project and not identified in the Statenert of Work must receive prior approva,1 of the NRC Pro.iect Manaoer. "
