PROCEDURE FOR RECEIVDiG, UNLOADDiG, SORTDiG, AND STORING STRUCTURAL STEEL 1.0 PURPOSE 1.1 The purpose of this procedure is to establish the responsibilities for receiving, unloading, sorting, and s toring s tructural steel.
' 2. 0 SCOPE 2.1 This procedure applies to all work involved in the handling of permanent structural materials for Waterford #3 S.E.S. and contains the requirements that are to be fulfilled by American Bridge Field Forces that receive, unload, sort and store structural steel, bolts, nuts, washers, metal decking, or other material.

4.0 DEFINITIONS 4.1 Certification - the act of determining the qualification of materials.
4.2 Classification - arranging materials according to their susceptibility to damage in storage.
4.3 Non conformance - physical defects only.
4.4 Documentation - written information describing tha conditions of materials received.
4.5 Item - Any piece of structural steel, bolt, nut, washer, metal decking, or other material.

4.7 Storage racilities - Y$rd or warehouse 4.8 Hold - Items which are unacceptable will be tagged thus, and stored until written permission has,been given by Ebasco as to its disposition.
5.0 RESPONSIBILITIES 5.1. American Bridge Foramen will be responsible for the reporting of material damaged in shipment to American Bridge quality Assurance personnel.
5.2 The quality Assurance personnel will perform inspections, control documents and report any non-conformance or discrepancy to Ebasco personnel.
6.0 PROCEDURE 6.1 Receiving and Storing Structural Items 6.1.1 Ebasco warehousing
- personnel will notify American Bridge that a shipment of steel has arrived at the site.
6.1.2 Items are to be stored on wood blocking not less than 4" above the ground in the designated storage area.
1 6.1.3 Ebasco's warehouse personnel will provide the American Bridge yard foreman with a copy of the shipping statement listing all items in the shipment.

6.14 2asco will transmit an MRR ( Haterial Receiving Report) to American Bridge

for the purpose of material inventory.
l 6.1.5 After inspection by Ebasco Quality Control, an ERIR ( Material Receiving IAspection Report) will be issued with the status of the individual items designated. American Bridge may accept the assigned status. Any azeentions to the status assigned by Dasco will be recorded cn FQAP 1-1, giving the Piece No., and a check in the Reject coltan. This inspection will be per-formed by American Bridge Q. A. personnel.' Ebasco's Centract Administrater will be notified at to the piece mark and the reason for rejection, 6.2 SCRTING(Shaking out) i 6.2.1 The structural steel members will be shook-out in accordance with erection sequence lists F QAP 1-5, which will be prepared by the American Bridge

I 6.2.2 American Bridge yard foremen will advisa American Bridge Quality Assurance personnel of any items that do not have Ebasco's green, accepted, or purple, conditionally accepted, tag affixed to them. American Bridge quality Assurance personnel will in turn contact Ebasco personnel as to the l
disposition of the item.
I 6.3 RECEIVING BOLTS, NUTS, WASHERS, AND MISCELLANEOUS MATERIAL i
6.3.1 These items are to be unloaded in accordance with Section 6.4 of this procedure.
1 6.3.2 Bolts, nuts, washers, and other small miscellaneous items delivered to the site by truck will be sent directly to Ebasco's warehouse.
6.3.3 Ebasco's Quality Control personnel will' inspect and certify their' acceptance.

6.4 UNLOADING 6.4.1 American Bridge field forces are to hoist bundled material or individual i
pieces from trucks or rail cars utilizing lif ting devices which are normal and accepted in the industry.
6.5 STCR/GE AREA INSPECTIQl3 651 A weekly inspection of the storage in the plant area shall be made by the Quality Assurance Officer to see that proper storage is being maintained.
This inspection will be documented on form FQAP 1 3, i
