1 1.0 SCOPE i

1.1 This procedure describes the housekeeping requirements for the control of work activities, conditions, and environment that can affect the quality of important part of a nuclear power plant during the construction phase.
1.2 This procedure is intended to meet the requirements of ANSI N45.2.3,
" Housekeeping During the Construction Phase of Nuclear Power Plants", and Ebasco Procedure ASP-IV-3, " General Housekeeping".
1.3 This procedure -applies to Service Level I coating work.
2.0 REFERENCES
2.1 The following doctanent were used as a guideline:

32 Additional definitions:
3.2.1 Special areas - Those areas of the plant where special measures i
<1) must be taken to insure cleanliness.
These areas include designated areas in the interior of the containment vessel, tank interiors, delicate equipment, machinery, and instruments.
3.2.2 Unrestricted areas - The remainder of the facility.
3 2.3 Construction phase - 1he period of time beginning wit'h the start of construction activity and ending as each plant area is turned over to the plant operator.

5.0 PROCEDURES 5.1 Housekeeping requirements.
5.1.1 Zone requirements.
5.1.1.1 Upon entering Engineer designated Zone Areas, personnel shall be subject to the requirements of each particular zone as specified in ANSI N45.2 3 5.1.2.Special Areas 5.1.2.1 Eating of food shall not be permitted in special areas.
5.1.2.2 Tobacco products may only be carried or used in special areas only with the Engineer's written permission.
5.1.2 3 only those items which are specifically required to perform the work, inspect it, record resulta, etc. shall be permitted in special areas.
5.1.2.4 only those items which are anticipated to be required during a shift's work shall be brought into special areas.
5.1.2.5 All Sline's tools, equipment, materials, etc. shall be removed from the special areas except:
5.1.2.5.1 Ihose items which are anticipated to be used in a shift starting at or before the conclusionn of the prior shift.

5.1.2.5.2 Engineer may stipulate in writing items which may be left in special areas and under what conditions.
These conditions shall be complied with.

5.1.2 7 Items and personnel clothing coming into special areas shall be free of mud, dirt, sand, grease, etc. as much as practical.

5.1 3 Unrestricted areas.
5.1.3.1 The Engineer may designate distinct smoking and non-smoking (the use of tobacco) areas - th.ese distinctions shall be observed.
5.1.3.2 Eating is permitted only in designated areas.
5.1 3 3 Food storage is permitted only in designated areas.
5.1 3 4 Employees shall change from street clothes to work clothes and back again only in designated change areas. Clothing

shall be stored only in designated areas.
5.1 3 5 Items shall be placed or stored to minimize tripping and similar hazards as much as practical.
5.1 3.6 Trash and debris shall be placed in designated areas pripr.
to ultimate disposal.
5.1 3 6.1 Trash piles shall be disposed of as required to avoid excessive build-ups.
5.1.3 6.2 on sit'e disposal of toxic materials by Sline will be done with the Engineer's written permission.
5.2 Inspection and documentation.
5.2.1 QA/QC personnel shall observe housekeeping ' compliance while ful-filling their other functions.
Any serious deficiencies shall be brought to the attention of the Quality Control Manager who shall in. turn discuss with the Job Superintendent.
5.2.2 Routine weekly ' housekeeping inspections shall be made by the Quality Control Inspector.
5.2.2.1 The Quality Control Manger shall schedule these inspections and is responsible for the report.
5.2.2.2 The " Housekeeping Inspection", Form SQA1-9-1 shall be used.
A copy of the completed form shall be sent to Site Job Superintendent and the Quality Assurance Manager.
