Upon receipt of the returned manual, the

- 1. 7 Project, Quality Assurance Indoctrination
,,.1. 7.1 New and transferred employees shall be indoctrinated in the requirements of the Quality Assurance Plan, stressing the importance and meaning of Quality Assurance / Quality Control as it applies to the employee's position.
1.7.1 The Proj ect Manager or Q. C. Monitor shall conduct the indoctrination.
The indoctrination may be accomplished as a group lecture or personal interview and shall cover the following items:

Objectives of the Quality Assurance Plan b)
Quality Assurance organi=ation and how it affects the duties and responsibilities of the employee, f
c)
Contents of the Quality Assurance Plan, with specific emphasis placed on those sections which

most directly affect the employee's position.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Purpose-This Quality Assurance Plan is established to assure that the quality level of the work performed by Peabody Testing /X-Ray Engineering Company is in accordance with Client requirements t
as defined in the contract and referenced Codes, Standards, or Specifications.
1.2 contents This Plan describes the plans, procedures and interpretations of project requirements that shall be used to assure the con-formance of Peabody Testing /X-Ray Engineering Company opera-tions to Contract requirements,.
1.3 Issuance and Control of the Quality Assurance Plan and Pro-cedures Manual (s) ies issued to the client and 1.3.1 Controlled copies - Those cop /X-Ray Engineering Company those used by Peabody Testing personnel in the performance and control of their activi-ties, shall be designated as " Controlled".
They shall be issued to individuals by a " Letter of' Transmittal" (Form 9-1).
A record of all manual holders shall be maintained.
The Control System shall be as described in Section 2, Procedure 2.4 of this Plan.
Only holders of " Controlled" copies will automatically ba sent additions, revisions, deviations or amendments.
1.3.2 Uncontrolled copies - Copies for general information will be issued as " Uncontrolled" copies.
The holder shall be responsible for verifying that the contents of a reference copy are " current" prior to each use of the copy.
l.3.3 Issuing Authority - The Manager of Quality Assurance directs the issuance and revision of the Q. A. Program and Q. A.
Plan.
The required number of copies will be issued to the Peabody Testing /X-Ray Engineering Company Proj ect Manager by the Quality Control Manager.
The Project Manager shall issue individual copies to the client.

The Project Manager's responsibilities do not include matters such as back charges, union agreements / commit-ments, major expenditures, contract change orders, legal matters, etc.
Items such as these must be approved by an officer of Peabody Testing /X-Ray Engineering Co.
5.0 PROJECT / FACILITIES QUALITY CONTROL MONITOR'S DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - The Quality Control Monitor is tne Quality Assurance Representative at' the Project / Facility.
5.1 Reporting Function - The Monitor reports to the Proj ect
' Manager for acministration and coordination of his project activities.
He reports to the Peabody Testing /X-Ray Engineering Company's Quality Control Manager or his desig-nated representative for technical direction and quality control activities.
The Quality Control Monitor has the authority to.stop product. ion work on those items where continued operation is or will not be in compliance with the Q. A. Plan.
5.2 Resoonsibilities - The responsibilities include:

Monitoring and/or inspection of operatiers and acti-vities.
b)
Documenting quality level achieved.
c)
Providing reports as required.
5.3 Duties - The duties include:
I a)
Verifying the quality of operations and activities.
i b)
Determining the suitability of test, examination and inspection documents.
c)
Monitor document control system.
d)
Inspecting operations and activities per the require-ments of the applicable internal Quality Control Procedure.
e)
Documenting results of the inspection by a check list or other appropriate scans.
)
f)
Reporting nonconfor=ances in accordance with this Project Q. A. Plan.

1.8 Project Quality Assurance Directives These direceives will be issued by the Manager of Quality Assurance to provide directions, instructions, explanations, interpretations, etc., relative to the Quality Assurance Plan.

2.2 Additional organizational structure at the proj ect level (such as assignment of shif t supervisors, darkroom personnel, etc.) is left to the discretion of the Proj ect Manager.
