REVISED PIDS FOR FIN A-6819, " RESOLUTION OF WATEP. FORD 3 QUALITY CONTROL ALLEGATIONS", TO TRANSFER FUNDS TO FIN A-6821,

" EVALUATION OF SELECTED OPEN NRC ACTIVITIES AT WATERFORD UNIT 3 SITE NEEDING ACTION BEFORE PLAtlT FUEL LOAD" Enclosed are Project Identification Summary sheets (PIDS).for the above subject projects at or to be at Idaho National Engineering Laboratory.

In my memorandum to you dated May 11, 1984, on FIN A-6819, additional funds in the amount of $255K were identified to be needed for the work at Waterford 3

under the Overall Management Coordination (Mr. D. Crutchfield) which was to be contracted by DL. Of the $255K identified, 5100K was needed for the project,

" Resolution of Waterford 3 Quality Control Allegations", and $155K was needed for a new project, " Evaluation of Selected Open NRC Activities at Waterford 3 Site Needing Action Before Plant Fuel Load." These two projects were to be Project i and Project 2, respectively, under the DL FIN A-6319.

I. has now been decided to fund the work in the above second project under a separate FIN Number, FIN A-6821.

We request that you transfer the $155K for the second project in FIN A-6819 to FIN A-6821. These funds are needed to authorize and fund work which is urgently needed in this month, May 1984 If you have any questions concerning this request, please contact Mark 'Jilliams on extension 28451.

In my memorandum to you dated Mgy 11, 1984, on FIN A-6819, additional funds in the amount of $255K were identified to be needed for the work at Waterford 3 under the Overall Management Coordination (Mr. D.' Crutchfield) which was to be contracted by DL. Of the $255K identifted, $100K was needed for the project,

" Resolution of Waterford 3 Quality Control Allegattons", and $155K was needed for a new project, " Evaluation of Selected Open NRC Activities at Waterford 3 Site Needing Action-Before Plant' Fuel Load." These two projects were to be Project 1 and Project 2, respectively, under the DL FIN A-6819. NRR FY84 Operating Plan: Case werk Decision Unit, Planned Accomplishment Power Reactor Reviews Construction of several plants is nearing completion.

At some plants there are a number of issues that need to be evaluated in a timely manner before the NRC staff can make its low power licensing decision for the plant. This contract is to provide assistance to NRR to evaluate se;ected open' NRC issues for the plant before the plant fuel load.
