DRAFT REPORT ON STRUCTURAL ADEQUACY AND SAFETY EVALUATION OF WATERFORD BASE MAT (B0ARD NOTIFICATION N0.84-102 )
In accordance with the NRC procedures for Board Notification, the enclosed information is being transmitted directly to the Commission. The Atomic Safety and Licensing Appeal Board for Waterford 3 is being notified by copy of this memorandum.
The enclosure is a memorandum from G. Lear to D. Crutchfield, dated April 27, 1984 on the structural adequacy and safety evaluation of the Waterford 3 base mat. Note that this information is preliminary and the staff anticipates revisions prior to final release. Notwithstanding the preliminary nature of this report, it is being released to allow the applicant to consider the monitoring surveillance and testing programs that the staff is proposing.
This report constitutes a portion of the staff review of the base mat issue and does not reflect the ongoing allegation review being performed at the site.
We will keep you and the appropriate board advised of further information on this evaluation.
