Dear Mr. Eddleman:

This responds to your letters to me of March 17 and 19, 1984,

1. The only extension to which Applicants have agreed for the filing of discovery requests on your Contention 41 is until April 2, 1984. Consequently, it does apply to the welder infor-mation sent to you on March 14, 1984, unless we agree otherwise.

In my view, however, there is adequate time for you to formulate any follow-up questions on the welder information by April 2.

l 2. Your questions on the application of confidential treat-i ment to the welder information are somewhat surprising and frus-trating, since you resisted my attempts to codify the protection to be provided and the Licensing Board imposed your commitments.

I read the Board's directive to apply those commitments. (in your j January 30, 1984 pleading) to the answers to Interrogatories '

41-1(1) and 41-1 (m) .

3. I consider the interrogatory answers of March 14, 1984 complete. I would not have filed them otherwise. Interrogatory 41-1 (m) asks for the date the welder was discharged, laid off  ;

or resigned. That information was provided. l

4. I cannot immediately answer your question on the meaning of the term " job experience," and concur that it is a suitable second-round question.

5. Mrs. Flynn or Mr. Carrow will contact you about your Contention 85/86.
