OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE FOR THE MONTH

. DOCKET NO. 50-361 UNIT SONGS - 2 DATE COMPLETED BY J. S. Iyer TELEPHONE 714/494-7700 Ex. 56208 October 1 0001 Unit is in Mode 5. The R.C.S. is d' rained to -72" below Reactor Vessel Flange. Outage work is in progress.

October 7 2352 Entered Mode 4, outage work is complete.

October 9 1540 Entered Mode 5 for repair of Steam Generator E-088 east manway cover, and at 2150 entered Mode 4, fill of both Steam Generators is complete.

October 10 1115 Entered Mode 5 due to leakage discovered at Steam Generator E-088 east manway.

October 16 0605 Entered Mode 4. Steam Generator manways are repaired and heatup is in progress.

October 18 1500 Entered Mode 3.

October 21 2040 Entered Mode 2. Reactor critical at 2239 hours0.0259 days <br />0.622 hours <br />0.0037 weeks <br />8.519395e-4 months <br />.

Octobe- 22 0140 through 1513 Performed eighteen (18) operator training reactor startups.

October 23 0520 Entered Mode 1.

October 24 0045 Synchronized generator and applied block load of 55MWe.

October 26 1559 Received system separation due to inadvertent manual initiation of 2/3HS-1703. Control Operator was cleaning adhesive from around 2/3HS-1703 and switch was depressed enough to actuate separation. System ties were restored at 1624.

October 27 0435 Main turbine trip due to loss of vacuum caused by improper lining up of the #3 feedwater heater for normal service following a repair of leak on the 3rd point heater drain pump.

October 27 1051 Synchronized generator and applied block load at 100MWe.

October 31 2359 Unit is in Mode 1 at 20% +/ .5% power (99MWe).
