Dear Mr. Collins:

In response to your telecopy dated April 15, 1983 from L. Martin, NRC-Region IV, to Fred E. Williams, NPPD QA Manager, requesting additional information regarding the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (USAR) as Appendix D and submitted January 19, 1983, NPPD respectfully requests an extension from April 15, 1983 to April 25, 1983 to provide this additional information.

Delays in attempting to gather more information is due to the recent Emergency Exercise and filling the CNS Engineering Supervisor position which was recently vacated. The District QA Program submitted to the NRC in 1979 is still in effect and will remain, until the submittal of January 19, 1983 is approved by your office.
