Dear Mr. Madsen:
In your letter dated December 17, 1979, you indicated that a previous noncompliance described in Inspection Report No. 77-01 had been down-graded from an infraction to a deficiency. It was stated that this downgrade was based on a determination that the actual review of safety related procedures had been conducted in a competent, professional manner. It was further stated that satisfactory completion of reviews is not documented or referenced in SORC Committee Meeting minutes. We were requested to resolve this deficiency and to submit to your office a written statement in reply including, (1) corrective actions which we plan to take and (2) the date full compliance will be achievad. In a previous telephone conversation between L. C. Lessor and you, we re-quested and was granted an extension in time for our response such that we could discuss the deficiency with your Inspector.
Corrective Action We are currently in the process of a complete re-write of our Admini-strative Procedure 1.3 to more clearly define our method of preparing, revising, and terminating procedures. This procedure will describe in detail the review process and approval process as well as the method of documenting the review to resolve this deficiency.
Date of Full Compliance The above described procedure will be completed, reviewed, approved, and implemented prior to March 1, 1980.
