APPROVAL OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE U.S. NATIONAL PARK SERVICE AND THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW OF THE TURKEY POINT NUCLEAR GENERATING UNITS 3 AND 4 SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (EPID NO. L-2018-LNE-0001)
Dear Mr. Vogel:
The purpose of this letter is to forward the enclosed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
Between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the U.S. National Park Service (NPS), Southeast Region for the purpose of preparing the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) for the subsequent license renewal for the Turkey Point Nuclear Generating Units 3 and 4 (Turkey Point). The MOU formally confirms the NRC as lead agency and the NPS as cooperating agency in the preparation of this SEIS as of the signatures of November 28 and 30, 2018.
As a cooperating agency, the NPS is providing its expertise to the NRC in order to facilitate an efficient and effective SEIS. If you have any questions concerning the staffs environmental review of this subsequent license renewal application, please contact the project manager, Ms. Lois James, by e-mail at Lois.James@nrc.gov.
