PUBLIC SUBMISSION Docket: NRC-2018-0101 Turkey Point Nuclear Plant Units 3 and 4 Comment On: NRC-2018-0101-0001 As of: 6/8/18 8:45 AM Received: June 02, 2018 Status: Pending_Post Tracking No. lk2-93hx-lt7p Comments Due: June 21, 2018 Submission Type: Web Florida Power & Light Company; Turkey Point Nuclear Plant Units 3 and 4 Document: NRC-2018-0101-DRAFT-0007 Comment on FR Doc # 2018-10806 Submitter Information Name: James Hopf Address:

1430 Tennis Lane Tracy, CA, 95376 Email: jamesehopf@gmail.com General Comment Any public health risks or environmental impacts from continued operation of Turkey point are far smaller than those associated with the fossil generation that would mainly replace it if it closed. Not allowing it to continue to operate would significantly *increase* public health risks, along with global warming. NRC must consider the big picture. Any water issues (i.e., salinity or temperature issues with the canals, etc.. ) are much less significant than the environmental impacts from the air pollution and CO2 emissions from the fossil generation most likely to replace the nuclear facility.

Thus, unless there are major issues, it is incumbent upon NRC to do what's right, for both public health and the climate, and grant Turkey Point a license extension.
