[External_Sender] Comments RE: Docket ID NRC-2018-0101 (License Renewal for FPL's Turkey Point)

Dear NRC Staff,

As a resident of South Florida, I am very concerned about the operation of Turkey Point until the early 2050s, especially since the plant is already contaminating nearby resources such as Biscayne Bay National Park and threatening our regions drinking water resources through salt water intrusion due to hypersaline cooling canal water and ammonia.

I request that the NRC independently evaluate the pollution leaking from the cooling canal system and study alternative cooling technologies that could protect the environment. Cooling towers as a replacement for the existing cooling canals

, would solve the problem of salt water intrusion The area around Turkey Point is risk of inundation in the near future due to sea level rise and hurricane storm surges.

The NRC needs to study a range of sea level rise projections and consider those impacts on the plant, the cooling canal system, and the surrounding community, including for emergency evacuation procedures and planning.

Thank you.

Sincerely, James Teas 8445 SW 181st Ter Palmetto Bay, FL 33157-6051 1
