RESIGNATION OF MANAGING DIRECTOR On November 29, 1982, Mr. R. L. Ferguson, Managing Director of the Washington Public Power Supply System, submitted a letter of resignation to the Supply System Board of Directors effective June 1, 1983.
The Executive Director for Operations and the Regional office (Region V) were notified of Hr. Ferguson's resignation by telephone on Monday, November 29, 1982.
As you are aware, Hr. Ferguson underwent heart surgery in March of this year.
Pressures related to his position as Managing Director have made a complete recovery difficult, and for health reasons, Hr. Ferguson has determined that his resignation is needed.
The Board of Directors will now begin the process of locating a replacement for. Hr. Ferguson.
While this process will undoubtedly take time, the effective date of Mr. Ferguson's resignation should provide for a smooth transition.
