Exit Interview The inspection scope and findings.were summarized on June 30, 1981, with those persons indicated in Paragraph 1 above.

The licensee had no comments regarding the inspection findings.

Licensee Action on Previous Inspection Findings (Closed) Violation 416/81-04-09 and Open item 416/81-04-10 A review was made of the procedural controls established to ensure equipment protective covers are used and in place when the equipment is operated.

The review included Advanced Change Notice # 11 to the Grand Gulf Startup Manual, Bechtel Work Plan WP/P-27 and Bechtel Work Plan WP/P-E-33.

These procedures established the specification necessary to ensure the proper equipment protection. There are no further questions at this time. These items are closed.

(Closed) Violation 416/81-04-08 and 416/79-33-01 A review was conducted of the procedural controls established in Bechtel Quality Control Instruction 0801T. These controls implement requirements for frequent monitoring and documentstion of_ housekeeping conditions.in the plant. The inspector has made frequent tours of the plant since the

increased emphasis has been placed on housekeeping after the violation was reported to management oa March 5,1981.

No significant housekeeping deviations were noted during these tours. There are no further questions at this time. These items are closed.

(Closed) Violation 416/81-04-11 A review was made of the corrective actions outlined in Mississppi Power and Light Company letter AECM 81-178 of May 19, 1981. The inspector reviewed the documentation of the training conducted for Bechtel QC Engineers. This training included the requirements of QCIM 0719T and discussed the cleanli-ness requirements. The inspector reviewed the clarification statements added to the Work Plan and Inspection Records for the Residual Heat Removal pumps, Low Pressure Core Spray pump and High Pressure Core Spray pump. The inspector reviewed Bechtel Work Plan WP/P-E-33. This procedure should supply the necessary controls to ensure that the type of cleanliness problems encountered with this problem does not reoccur. There are no further questions at this time. This item is closed.

(Closed) Unresolved Item 416/80-23-01 The inspector reviewed the open item file system established to document identified problems. The file is maintained and updated at the liississippi Power and Light Company Corporate office in Jackson, Mississippi. The updated list is then distributed to all of the necessary satellite offices.

Management Review The inspector attended a meeting held in the Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRC) office in Bethesda, Maryland. The meeting was attended by officials from NRR and Mississippi Power and Light Company. The meeting was held to discuss the proposed management and staffing for Grand Gulf Nuclear Station when it goes into operation.

Plant Tour The inspector toured portions of the control building, auxiliary building, and Containment.

The tours were made at various times. The ir.spector observed the work and operations in progress in the toured areas. Close attention was given to housekeeping and cleanliness of the areas.
