JANUARY I 0000 Shift continued to maintain maximum achievable thermal power.

JANUARY 4 0005 Shift began reducing load when Main Turbine control Valve (TCV No. 2 drifted closed. Main Turbine Bypass Valve No. 1 opened, p)er '

design, to control reactor pressure.  ;

JANUARY 4 0020 An automatic reactor scram occurred on high reactor pressure when all four Main TCVs drifted closed due to clogging of the valves' servo strainers. The strainers were replace <. All three Main 1

Turbine Bypass Valves opened per design.

i JANUARY 5 1736 Shift began withdrawing control rods for unit startup.

JANUARY 5 2233 Shift brought the reactor critical.

I JANUARY 7 1537 Shift tied the Main Generator to the grid and began ascension to i

maximum achievable thermal power.

JANUARY 9 1228 Shift began reducing load to approximately 485 GMWe to perform a Rod Pattern Adjustment and remove 5th Stage Feedwater Heater "B" i from service for final feedwater temperature reduction. i

! JANUARY 9 2110 Shift began ascension to maximum achievable the.wal power. Fuel

! preconditioning measures were implemented to prevent fuel i degradation during ascension.

! JANUARY 11 1500 The unit attained maximum achievable thermal power.

JANUARY 12 2148 Shift began reducing load to approximately 505 GMWe to perform a

- Rod Pattern Adjustment. As a conservative measure, the servo 4

strainers on Main Turbine Control Valve No. I and Main Turbine Stop Valve {TSV) No. 2 were replaced again to inspect for 1 clogging. The 5th Stage Feedwater Heater "A" was removed from service for final feedwater temperature reduction.

preconditioning measures were implemented to prevent fuel

JANUARY 13 2215 The unit attained maximum achievable thermal power.
