CAUSE/ CORRECTIVE ACTION / COMMENTS:

NARRATIVE REPORT Unit 2 operated at rated thermal power for most of the month of June. Shift began reducing load on 6/5/98 following notification from the National Weather Service that winds in excess of 60 miles per hour (MPH) were expected in the area in association with an approaching storm front. Shift terminated the load reduction at approximately 670 GMWe after the National Weather Service updated their prediction that wind speeds should not exceed 50 MPH. Shift returned the unit to rated thermal power later that day after the storm front had passed through the area. Shift reduced load to approximately 620 GMWe on 6/21/98 to perform a control rod sequence exchange, scram time testing, and turbine control valve testing. inspection and maintenance were also performed in the condenser bay while at reduced load. The unit was returned to rated thermal power later that day.
