Unit 2 oped.d at rated thermal power for most of the month of annuary. Shift reduced load to approximately 620 GMWe on 1/4/98 to perform a Control Rod Sequence Exchage, Turbine Control Valve Testing, and to iamove the 2nd Stage of the Moisture Separator Reheaters (MSRs) fror.1 service to investigate a possible restriction in the low level control line for "D" MSR 2ad Stage Drair, f ank. The t#t was retumed to rated thermal power on 1/5/98 with the 2nd Stage of the iASRs out of service. Shift reduced load to approximately 790 GMWe on 1/6/98 to remove

- the "B" 4th Stage Feedwater Heater from service to facilitate repair of a check valve on the "D" MSR 2nd Stage low level control line. The unit was returned to rated thermal power un it7/98 wn5 the 2nd Stage of the MSRs and the k 'B" 4th Stage Feedwater Heater ot,t of service.
