Team Assessment at Exxon: Nuclear. Company.

This refers'to the team assessment ofl operational-safety conducted November 3-7, 1986, by the.NRC with the assistance of representatives from EPA, FEMA, and Stateiof Wa'shington Department of Labor and Industries. The results of. the assessment were discussed with you and members of your staff at the conclusion of the assessment.

The' areas addressed during the team assessment are described in the enclosed report. Within these areas, the asse.asment consisted of selective examinations'of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the team members.

During this assessment a number of recommendations were identified and listed in Section 3 of the enclosure. Please give them your serious consideration and provide us with your conclusions and any planned actions. We would expect a response by May 1,1987.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
