Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

On September 4, 1979, a report was made under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e) concerning overpressurization of the contairment from a main steam line break.

In accordance with the reporting requirements of 10CFR21, the following information is submitted:

The original PSAR analyses did not consider the long term blowdown from t main steam line break. Later afialyses show that the long term blowdown will overpressurize the containment.

Vepco, S&W and B&W are investigating modifications to the auxiliary feedwater system to limit auxiliary feedwater flow to the broken steam generator in the. event of a main steam line break.
