SAFEIY CDORN KERRT SCR-058 10/6/88 In coup 11ance with our 4ality Assurance Progran, we are notifying you of a potential deviation associated with all RY1 (Series 15) and RY2 (Series 15)
Indicators purchased by nuclear custerers.
A potential deviation is a departure from technical requirements set forth in Bailey Specifications which results in a reduction of the prescribed functional capability of equipment previously supplied as a basic cocponent.
Bailey is performing an analysis of this departure to determine if it is, in fact, a "deviation" as defined in 100R21.
Bailey will provide the analysis to support our final determination. 'Ihis notification should also facilitate the discharge of your obligatiens undec 100R50, Section 50.55 (e).
'Ibe referenced RY Indicators have been found to shift calibration as ambient temeratures charge resulting in this deviation cutside of the performance specification. At greater input spans, the error is se. aller. 'Ibere is little ertur at midscale and maximn error at either end. As temperature increases, the pointer will move toward midscale.
All applicable users / customers are being notified verbally, to be followed by a letter of clarification.
Corrective Action is ptwsently under investigation and will be resolved.
You are advised that this notification discharges Bailey's obligation with respect to our 4ality Assurance procedures and 10CFR21.
