/ g On January 29, 1981, NRC Region II was notified, unde 6t. f ",

provisions of 10CFR50.55(e) and 10CFR21, that the structural integh of certain RCS attached piping had not been verified for postulated breaks in the RCS piping. Our review of this concern has also revealed that the structural integrity of RCS attached piping has not been verified for main steam line and feedwater line breaks. As indicate 1 in our 30-day report (Ref. Our letter of February 27, 1981, Serial No. 137) actions will be taken to ensure these piping and instrumentation connections are adequately designed or redesigned to withstand the effects of the afore-mentioned pipe breaks.

This letter is an interim report on this subject. A final report will be filed following the resolution of this matter.
