In response to IE Bulletin No. 80-10, we have completed a facility design and operation review to identify systems that are considered as non-radioactive, but could possibly become radioactive through inter-faces with radioactive systems. Such systems include:
: 1. Main Steam, Auxiliary Steam and Associated Systems
: 2. Condensate System
: 3. Feedwater System
: 4. Hiscellaneous Drains, Vents and Sumps
: 5. Makeup Water System - Demineralized Mater
: 6. Essential Service Water System
: 7. Component Cooling Mater System
: 8. Plant Air System, and
: 9. Mell Water System Our review indicated that adequate sampling/analysis or monitoring are performed routinely on the above listed systems to preclude the problems identified'n Bulletin 80-10. In addition to the existing sampling/analysis and monitoring systems, the following sample points will be monitored weekly for gross beta gamma and tritium to expedite detection of contamination:
: 1. Total Hot Mell
: 2. Heating Boiler Water, and
: 3. Cold Leg Demineralizer 800v 230 RK)

RESPONSE TO IE BULLETIN 80-10 Nr. James G. Keppler, Director Region III U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission 799 Roosevelt Road Glen Ellyn, Illinois 60137

Dear Mr. Keppler:

In response to IE Bulletin No. 80-10, we have completed a facility design and operation review to identify systems that are considered as non-radioactive, but could possibly become radioactive through inter-faces with radioactive systems. Such systems include:

1. Main Steam, Auxiliary Steam and Associated Systems
2. Condensate System
3. Feedwater System
4. Hiscellaneous Drains, Vents and Sumps
5. Makeup Water System - Demineralized Mater
6. Essential Service Water System
7. Component Cooling Mater System
8. Plant Air System, and
9. Mell Water System Our review indicated that adequate sampling/analysis or monitoring are performed routinely on the above listed systems to preclude the problems identified'n Bulletin 80-10. In addition to the existing sampling/analysis and monitoring systems, the following sample points will be monitored weekly for gross beta gamma and tritium to expedite detection of contamination:
