Dear Dr. Crace:

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the status of corrective action being taken to resolve violation RII GFM/RLP 50-000/85-00-02, "Inadequate Electrical Design", and to establish a new projected full compliance date.

In our April ll, 1985, letter NRC-339, we stated that the subject NIO. AWG conductor had been replaced with a 82 AWG conductor per F R-E-0052, and that administrative instructions had been issued to ensure closer monitoring and control of cable sized by HPES. We also stated that a formal guideline procedure to place adequate control and verification requirements on cable sized by HPES was projected to be issued by April 30, 1985.

We hereby inform you that the issuance of the above mentioned guideline will be delayed. We are cu'rrently completing a review of the Ebasco issued design basis document upon which the CPtttL guideline will be based. It is now projected that the review, approval, and issuance of the guideline will be accomplished by 3une 14, 1985.
