Carolina Power
& Light Company (CP&L) hereby provides notification that the action committed to in CP&L's response to Generic Letter 88-14 for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, dated February 3, 1989 (NLS-89-022),
has been completed.
The CP&L response described the verification efforts that were performed to address the requirements of the Generic Letter. It also described one activity that remained to be completed, i.e., incorporation of a pressure drop test in post-maintenance test:ing following disassembly of the check valves in two inst:rument air supply lines.
The check valves service the accumulators for the containment vacuum relief valves.
The pressure drop test has been incorporated in an engineering performance test procedure which will be performed as part of the post-maintenance testing following disassembly of any of the check valves.
Therefore, the action committed to in response to Generic Letter 88-14 has been completed.
