DOCKETS 50-266 AND 50-301 10 CFR 170, REPORT REVIEW FEES POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT on December 5, 1986 we responded to a November 5, 1986 letter from Ms. Reba M. Diggs, Facilities Program Coordinator, requesting remittance of an application fee pursuant to 10 CFR 170 for the review of a leak chase channel evaluation report which Wisconsin Electric had submitted on July 24, 1986. We had reached the conclusion that this report was not subject to a 10 CFR 170 application fee.

On January 8, 1987, Mr. T. Colburn and Mr. F. Maher called Mr.

C. W. Krause of my staff and clarified the NRC's position. We understand that a review of this report will be necessary to document resolution of an open item in a recent NRC inspection report for the Point Beach Nuclear Plant. This understanding was confirmed in an undated letter to Wisconsin Electric from Ms. Diggs which was received on January 15. We, therefore, agree that this review may be subject to 10 CFR 170 fees and have provided herewith an application fee in the amount of

$150.
